Here behind the cut are the very preliminary, not-necessarily-complete,

4 Eyes Like the Morning (Savitzky)
5 Filksong Lullabye (Savitzky)

12 The Owl and the Pussycat (Lear/Trad.)
13 Paper Wings (Savitzky)
14 Keep the Dream Alive (Savitzky)
Hackers' Heaven

This list is also fairly complete. It works out to about 42 minutes with a dozen tracks; the narrative introductions will fill it out. Order is undefined except within broad groups.

1 The World Inside the Crystal (Savitzky)

3 The Merry Man and his Maid (Gilbert/Sullivan)

10 The Mary Ellen Carter (Rogers)
11 Silk and Steel (Savitzky)

Working title: "Rose Among Stars"

This one is still very incomplete; I'll probably have more by tomorrow morning.

2 Talking Dragon (Savitzky/Trad.)
3 Paper Wings (Savitzky)
4 When the Magic Died (Savitzky)
5 A Meeting in the Wood (Savitzky)

So when do pre-orders open up? ;)

I learned the hard way that offering preorders too early, and especially with a bonus CD the way I did, was a major distraction, and taking preorders both in cash set things up for a major amount of hassle at sales-tax time. On the other hand, it's good to have money in hand.

So I think what I'll probably do instead is sell subscriptions: for a reasonable amount up front -- $20 is probably about right -- you'd get the ability to download tracks as I work on them, with a real CD at the end when it's finished.

What Dave said. :) When can we start throwing money at these projects?

Sounds good... Put me down for a copy.

Also, how are the sales on CCS going? Harold

I need to crunch the numbers sometime between now and the end of January for sales tax, but just going from the number of empty boxes it looks like I've sold about 400 copies so far.

Other possible album title suggestions for Rose Among Stars:

The Shores of Night
Bright Stars All Around
The Dreams of Stars
In a Starry Sky
Star Flight
Follow the Stars

It just actually seems to me like Dreams, Flight, and Stars are really the things which thus far tie this album together rather than roses.

Good point -- I think you're on the right track here.

Dreaming of Stars?
Dreaming in the Stars?

I'm thinking of the line in "Rambling Silver Rose":
As she drifts out in the darkness
 Sleeping wrapped in shining stars...

Either of those could work, too.

Or maybe just Dreaming Stars. (Or The Dreaming Stars.)

I'll keep poking at it.

Hmm.. Wrapped in Stars?

I'd say 'Lost in the Stars', but that's something else, (though it's a good song).

Oooh, maybe 'Found in the Stars' or 'Found in Space'.

Or maybe I'm just tired and little loopy.

"Wrapped in Stars" is definitely in the running.

"In Shining Stars"? I like the idea of using a phrase or an image from a song, without using the title.

Oh. Right.
She always knew that she was born
To follow a Wandering Star...
Dream of Wandering Stars is another possibility.

No "Toolmakers" anywhere in there? Pleeeeeeeeeeease? I know that because the first two are theme albums it would have to go on the third, but can't it?

It's on Amethyst Rose. This set has "Paper Wings" on both AR and Rose -- I really can't decide where it goes at this point.

"Paper Wings" feels AR to me. Your mileage may vary.

You're right. Most of the songs in AR were written for, or strongly associated with, specific people, so that definitely qualifies.
