Re-PC and Interconnections both look interesting; right now I have rather a surplus of power bricks (in part thanks to a couple of trips where I forgot to bring one -- iGo makes the best ones). I also have a surplus of laptops, though only a few of them are modern enough to run my preferred window manager configuration, which relies on using the logo/windows/apple key to keep from stepping on Emacs's use of Alt. And I finally found the adapter I had been looking for. But it might be worthwhile looking for a tablet, and maybe a slightly newer small laptop.
