Giving
Meant to post this last night, but got into a long conversation with a visiting
eleccham instead...
Just before I left work (a little early) for a blood donation appointment, I got the following announcement in my email:
From linuxprinting.org:
Ricoh releases their PPDs under MIT license Tue 22 Feb 2005

Today George Liu has uploaded more than 100 PPD files for PostScript printers of all 6 brands from Ricoh (Gestetner, Infotec, Lanier, Ricoh, NRG, Savin) to linuxprinting.org. All files are published under the MIT license and so they are free software. In addition George Liu provided Foomatic data for these printers, so that you can find them in the database of this site. You find the new PPD files in our PPD download section. It's things like that that make me proud to be working for Ricoh. They're also one of the greenest companies around, as you can see from this page, just one click away from their home page. How many other companies have an "Environment" link on the first line of their home page?
Thanks to George Liu and Ricoh for this excellent step.
