  | neck/shoulder pain, almost certainly from a bad pillow. Ouch!
    at least I can be pretty sure it isn't anxiety this time
  * up 8:30ish after dozing since 6ish; coffee; drugs, nose, teeth
  * Guitar workshop with Joe Giocoio
    cross-handed playing
    open tunings. D, G, C families; all have only one string on the 3rd.
    Maj, Min, Sus4 Sus2
  & Good talks with Harry Brenner, others
  * bed ~1:30

As usual for cons, my note-taking is sketchier. But it was a good, relaxing day. Lots of good talks with people I don't see often enough.

Joe Giacoio's guitar workshop was great. I was the only one there at first, so I got to pick the topics: open tunings and cross-hand playing. Very, very informative. His technique is to give you the "aha" bit of information that tells you how to learn the rest on your own.

Colleen is enjoying the con, and her increased mobility, immensely, and needs comparatively little help. The bed is too high for her, though; I'm going to have words with the hotel on that (though I doubt it will do any good).

Have they announced next year's guests yet?

hotel beds are often a bit too high for me these days too - it seems to be a thing with the fancy newer box springs and pillow-top matresses, which do make for more comfortable sleeping once you're in them, though.

And for some of us, the taller bed means "can get out of bed without help so I can go pee in the middle of the night" since a low (anything) is very hard for me to rise up from. Being also a fairly short person, I have a portable step stool that helps.

Apparently, there will be no oatmeal shortage, thank goodness.
