Just 35 years ago today Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. I had recently graduated from college; I'm old enough to have read Rocket Ship Galileo when it was still science fiction instead of alternative history.
35 years ago today, my sister was exactly one year old. And my father and I were glued to the old black-and-white Zenith TV set, watching the broadcast from the moon.
I was 10 and watched the landing on the TV. Afterwards I watched the bombing practice of the old Liberty Ship in the middle of Cape Cod Bay. It was practice for bombing Vietnam..etc.
