Well, it's nice to know I can still sort of sight-read after all those years decades of not playing the piano. I've been trying to get back the melody for "House Carpenter" after years of drift, and trying to learn "Wings". When I sing them the melodies keep trying to go places they don't belong, and then get all upset when they wind up in blind alleys in the dark.

It's nice having a keyboard in the house again. I can read music on piano, but not on guitar. I'm a very old and clumsy bear, and set in my ways.

And by the way, telynor is evil, evil, evil for recommending Lies My Music Teacher Told Me: Music Theory for Grownups by Gerald Eskelin. I'm probably going to get a lot less done in the next couple of days than I might have.

Wings... which one? The EC one? I am *so* hoping so, because I'd dearly LOVE to include Kanef's latest filk of that in my concert set, but if someone *else* sings it, I can play flute, which as far as I'm concerned is a Big Win. :)

Oh my. At least it's a reasonable key, not one with lots of sharps or flats... Still, a certain amount of flute part rework may be needed, so the advance heads-up is a Good Thing(tm). Thanks!
