Not the best of days
Well, let's see...
Let's start with my walk at lunchtime. Between temperatures in the upper 90s and the fact that my right knee started hurting about the time I started (it was the left knee last week; luckily I had a knee brace in my bag for just such an occasion), it wasn't much exercise.
On second thought, let's start with waking up at 4:30 and not being able to get back to sleep. Because that probably explains the crash around 1:30.
I then spent a singularly frustrating three hours trying to create a
couple of trivial circuit diagrams in (in order) dia,
xfig, and OpenOffice. The latter was starting
to work when the pain in my right hand forced me to stop and head for
home. If I get sufficiently frustrated tomorrow I'll haul out my camera
and a whiteboard.
On the way home, it suddenly occurred to me that the brilliant idea I had last week (and was writing up for the patent review committee meeting Wednesday; hence the circuit diagrams) may very well have a fatal flaw in it. Which is what I get for coming up with something out of my field less than two weeks before the deadline.
I may have another drink after all.
