Yes the ankle/wrist weights would be a good add to your daily walks, or just for use daily in whatever you do. Small bits of resistance will help slowly build up muscle, and make your body more healthy as you go along. The elliptical is a good idea, mainly because it is non-impact, and a good cardio workout.

Sad part for me is that almost every single elliptical I can afford, has a max weight limit of either 200 or 250 pounds...like us 300+ pound folks don't need to exercise. I find it amusing, frustrating and discriminating...but I don't have the money to tackle a lawsuit at the moment! *just kidding, well sort of*

Glad the ideas have usable merit for you. I used to love weightlifting, still do...my problem is I gave all my weight plates to my best friend, who shortly thereafter moved to Southern Cali, taking them with. Now I need to buy 150 pounds worth of metal 1" bar plate weights, so I can use my bench again! :P
