An office with walls does little to prevent sound leakage from the adjacent offices when the building has a dropped ceiling. Other than that, though, it's very nice. I'll cope.

I got quite a lot of work done, but no walkies.

Quite a few links. I was saddened and shocked to learn of the death of Project Gutenberg's founder, Michael Hart -- shocked, because he was less than a week older than me. I'm feeling old now. And mortal.

I spent quite a while in the evening listening to songs by Trinh Cong Son on YouTube; Joan Baez called him "the Vietnamese Bob Dylan". He was recommended to me by our Vietnamese lab tech, Gloria, when I said goodbye to her last Friday. Go give Impermanent Flower a listen. It's worth it.

I've been experiencing a lot of synchronicity lately. Less than 20 minutes before seeing your post, I'd seen the announcement on gutenberg.org while setting up my quotation of the day.

Trinh Cong Son reminded me more of Burt Bacharach than Bob Dylan, but it was very pretty. Do you know if there are any English translations for his work?

It's always sad when someone dies prematurely, but I was struck by the fact that his obit said that he eschewed Doctors if favor of home remedies. May I suggest that you not do the same? (We'd like to keep you around for a long time, even if you are feeling old.)

I haven't found any translations yet, unfortunately, but I haven't looked hard for them.

As long as work is paying for most of my Kaiser coverage, I'll continue using doctors as needed.

Google's homage for Freddie Mercury reminded me that Freddie was 45 when he died. When he died, that seemed ... well, not old to me, but not young. Now that I'm 45 it feels rather different.
