The holiday weekend so far...

chaoswolf had her birthday party -- since it hadn't been publicized much except on LJ and on Wednesday nights, and since many of the people who might have come were at Westercon, it was a rather small affair as our parties go. Still fun, though; I think I spend a little more time socializing than I usually do. As did the Wolf, for that matter.
Sunday afternoonflower_cat and I went out for a drive -- about 80 miles down to Gilroy and back. The Cat's feeling much better, finally, and was able to get in and out of the car without screaming in pain. It's nice to have some time to ourselves, just to hang out and chat.
In the evening we watched the downtown San Jose fireworks from our front porch. Trees across the street cut out maybe the lower third, but it was still a pretty good show. Then we went in and watched the Boston Pops show on TV. Yeah, it was bigger and flashier, but the live show was still better: much higher resolution, and the explosions were fully audible instead of being compressed down to little pops.
