All in all a pretty eventful week. Not clear whether the big event was Thanksgiving -- which the YD did much of the work for, thankfully -- or Colleen moving upstairs. And I did a huge amount of puttering around the latter, including (in no particular order) a lot of laundry, installing grab bars, moving the support pole, folding up the couch and putting the carpet back down, and no doubt a lot of thngs I've forgotten.

Some of our king-sized sheets appear to have gone missing. Grump. But it's really nice to be back in our own bed, in our own bedroom. Wow.

Hmm. More visits with Uncle Ken, Susan, and company, including dinner at a local pizza joint called Talarico, where we met Susan's daughters. She hasn't met Chaos yet.

Some good links in the notes.

: Damned if I know where all the king-sized sheets went. At least two are missing: one
of the red ones, and the black one. Broke open the new set.

"For most of us, preparing instant pancakes from a box is an easy, three-step
affair. Gather and mix a few ingredients, pour the batter into a hot pan, flip. For
Steven Savitzky, however, the process isn’t so simple. He was diagnosed with autism
spectrum disorder (ASD) at 18 months and today, at age 20, still lives at home with
his parents on Long Island, New York. For him, the kitchen is a distressing
place. “It’s a sensory-rich environment, and that can be a barrier for someone with
autism,” says Steven’s 23-year-old sister, Amanda Savitzky" Amazing what you can turn

% ok; that makes me feel better. I was worried last night that I still had bills due
the 28th, but there's nothing earlier than 12/3 in the stack. Of course, that's next
Tuesday, but if I pay them this evening I'll be fine.

& minor set of kerfuffles over the turkey. The kids seem to have it in hand now, but I
had to come in and get the plastic dealy-bob out of the bird's butt; this required
using the kitchen shears as first an icepick, then a pry-bar.

  * 15min: mount pictures on Rainbow Room mantle. The hammer-drill makes short work of
brick. Wants a slightly smaller bit for walldog screws, though: brick's soft enough
that they strip out a 3/16" hole. ETA: as it turns out, 5/32 is too small, however.
