COVID-19: Episode 8: Randomness

It has been just over a month since my COVID-19: Episode 1 post; my first use of the covid-19 tag was on March 1^st. That was basically the point at which my main worries stopped being centered around climate change and started being centered around COVID-19.

My main worries these days have been less about whether I'm going to live through the next few months -- Washington seems to be better prepared than most states -- and more about whether we're going to end up with a country that I can stand to live in. Or, given how much I depend on Medicare and Social Security, can live in. It's frightening and depressing.

And that's before going back to worrying about the planet.

Yesterday, when I started thinking about what to say in this post, I seem to remember having some idea of where I wanted to go. Some kind of advice, I think. But I lost the thread, and I think one of the cats is playing with it now. Take care.

One of my long-term worries is that "temporary" emergency measures tend to become permanent. See Patriot Act.

The other thing I'm worried about is the Supreme Court. With its current conservative majority it will be next to impossible to undo a lot of the damage done by the current administration.
