As I write this I have gone to the main house for breakfast, so I've left the purring cats in the studio. But still, purring cats.

A lot of my attention over the week was spent dealing with the new CPAP. I need to write a review soon. (Which won't do me much good, but will at least document the problems.) The display, which tells me how long I've been using the thing (see "S=..." in the notes), is located on top and too small to read easily in any case. The phone app, which I could otherwise use to get the same information in readable form, relies on Bluetooth. Unlike most BT devices, the CPAP has to be re-paired every time it's powered up. Which includes both commuting between Seattle and Freeland and, apparently, middle-of-the-night power glitches.

On the other hand I've been practicing more, and did a fair amount of walking yesterday. Partly from leaving my phone in the car -- that happens almost every time I use Google Maps for directions. I also tend to leave it next to my bed in the morning. It probably says something about me that half the exercise I get most days is going back and forth to retrieve my phone. I don't think I want to know what it says, do I?

Friday's event was a "Ceremony of Remembrance" organized by The Healing Center, which is the organization that provides my grief support group. Nice opportunity to see a few of the people in the group in RL instead of zoom, light a candle, and say a few words about Colleen. And they started the ceremony with a piper. Bagpipes make everything better. Like cats.

: Fscking CPAP had to be re-paired. Took 3 tries, as usual. That does it.

-> CPAP fit in the duffle with the laundry, which was convenient
: Morning conversations in this house can get surreally silly
  * back to Whidbey -> alarm going off which turned out to be the entryway UPS
-> among other things, the squid appears to be dead. Worked around.

" How do I receive data from a modem?
DreamMapper works in conjunction with our homecare provider software called
EncoreAnywhere. Your homecare provider must make a connection to your current
account with your email address and serial number for your device (13 digit number
on the bottom of the device starting with P or J) so you can receive data in
DreamMapper. Please contact your homecare provider and request this information be
entered into EncoreAnywhere. When this information is entered, the connection is
established. If the homecare provider is unsure or has any questions, please ask him
or her to contact DreamMapper Support at Philips. "

Purring cats are always a Good Thing. I had my boys purring on my walk earlier today. Monroe loves riding my walker, and Achilles lays in meatloaf pose on my way to our library (I sit in front of the fireplace to rest before going back to my recliner). Honor likes being a furry speed bump.
