mdlbearAfter starting out badly with a lot of stress and self-recrimination (see first item here), things got better. But I've decided to spend more time with Ticia, because neither of us is getting any younger, and both of us are mortal.
We both had bloodwork done on Wednesday; we each have some things that we need to keep an eye on in case they get worse, but we're okay for now and in pretty decent shape for the elderly animals that we are.
The same cannot be said for either America's democracy or the Earth's climate. That's depressing.

Date: 2023-09-04 10:35 am (UTC)My winter flu jab appointment in two weeks time is now going to include shingles & pneumonia jabs plus a Covid booster shot, the latter after the government belatedly pulled their finger out of their ear. :| I'm going to take it easy for a few days after that and let the vaccines run their course.
Old bathroom scales are being replaced by new digital one, it's harder to get clear & accurate reading these days.
Raspberry canes are fruiting in earnest now, so plenty of fruit for a few more months. 😋And we're having an Indian summer this week, so back into shorts & t-shirt for me for time being.
Doing my tax return this week, getting it done early again, then hopefully get my Will signed and witnessed, then registered.

Date: 2023-09-04 08:19 pm (UTC)Stress could certainly be a factor, so could BPH (enlarged prostate, which I've already been diagnosed with). I had a biopsy several years back; as you say, it's unpleasant, though not the worst procedure I've had.

I'm taking doxazosin for the BPH -- another alpha inhibitor. It also helps with my hypertension, though I'm probably going to have to add something else as my BP continues to creep up over the years.
