After starting out badly with a lot of stress and self-recrimination (see first item here), things got better. But I've decided to spend more time with Ticia, because neither of us is getting any younger, and both of us are mortal.

We both had bloodwork done on Wednesday; we each have some things that we need to keep an eye on in case they get worse, but we're okay for now and in pretty decent shape for the elderly animals that we are.

The same cannot be said for either America's democracy or the Earth's climate. That's depressing.

My winter flu jab appointment in two weeks time is now going to include shingles & pneumonia jabs plus a Covid booster shot, the latter after the government belatedly pulled their finger out of their ear. :| I'm going to take it easy for a few days after that and let the vaccines run their course.

Old bathroom scales are being replaced by new digital one, it's harder to get clear & accurate reading these days.

Raspberry canes are fruiting in earnest now, so plenty of fruit for a few more months. 😋And we're having an Indian summer this week, so back into shorts & t-shirt for me for time being.

Doing my tax return this week, getting it done early again, then hopefully get my Will signed and witnessed, then registered.

If my experience with that is anything to go by, your urologist will probably want to run the PSA test again. Now and then, an elevated number will occur because of stress. If it returns the same or a higher result, your urologist will probably want to do a prostate biopsy. A necessary evil, and one of the least pleasant procedures I've ever been through. Unless something really bad comes back from the biopsy, they'll probably recommend 'watchful waiting', rather than surgery, simply because you're getting up there on the ageometer. All the best and may you be healthy.

Seconded. Prostate cancer is generally two types: very slow-growing, and rapid as hell. Actor and song & dance man Jerry Orbach died of the latter. BPH is inevitable in men, sorry to say, and age at onset varies. My hubby is 61 and has just enough to require Flomax. It's generally well-tolerated, at least we have. Yes I had it for kidney stone pain - it eases renal colic, which hurts as bad as labor or worse, some say.

Sorry. As a retired RN, I tend to jump in.
