Thankful Thursday
2023-09-21 04:00 pmToday I am grateful for...
- Vaccines. (Flu and RSV yesterday, 2nd shingles in a few weeks, COVID when I can get it but hopefully soon; right now they're scheduling out into next month.) (Not too fond of side-effects, but they're still worth the trouble.)
- Adjustable beds. Mine are the kind of low-cost, butt-ugly bed you find in nursing homes, but they're reasonably comfortable, work well with a heating pad for my back, and almost substitute for a recliner.
- Have I mentioned eyedrops recently? Eyedrops. Also calcium carbonate.
- NSAIDs.
- Cardboard boxes for keeping cats happy and off my keyboard.

Date: 2023-09-22 10:46 am (UTC)Apparently I'm not old enough for vaccination against shingles, but I did get my flu and Covid booster on Sunday. I just hope more people are doing likewise here in the UK — the doctor's surgery was almost empty when I went for my appointment.

Date: 2023-09-23 10:10 am (UTC)The three big drug chains around here are CVS, RiteAid, and Walgreens. CVS requires online appointments and made me go through eight pages of a form before telling me a mysterious error had occurred and I'd have to start all over later. I don't like the local Walgreens for unrelated reasons. The RiteAid which was within long walking distance closed, so I have to go to one in the next town, but it's worth it.

I may get some of my vaccines here before I go home. This would be ideal.

Did you know that if you mark out a square on the floor with tape, a cat will sit in it?

Date: 2023-09-25 12:21 pm (UTC)I finally found my vaccine at Safeway. They had plenty of appointments, unlike the big drug store chains.
