Outing with the kids, hooray!
2002-08-02 08:16 pmI took the day off today so we could take the kids to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We were originally planning to have both of ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
chaoswolf's girlfriends, but Anarchy flunked her summerschool class and got herself grounded. So it was just Chaos and Mayhem, plus our 10-year-old Emmy.
The aquarium was, as usual, wonderful. We've been members since about year after it opened, but there's something new every year -- Colleen and I would go even if the kids hated it. They don't, fortunately. They have a new exhibit of jellies (they don't call them "jellyfish" anymore, apparently, because they're not fish) plus art inspired by or somehow related to them -- my favorites were the various glass thingies.
It's also worth mentioning that the aquarium has a very good, sit-down restaurant (where we invariably have lunch), along with a decent cafeteria. It's an all-day expedition; Monterey is roughly a 2-hour drive.
Anyway, a good time was had by all. Much better than working.
