Went to Fry's today, ostensibly to pick up a copy of the latest version of "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego" for the kids (I'm still waiting for the parody version, "Where in Hell..."). Along the way I picked up a couple of Janis Ian CDs: The Bottom Line Encore Collection and Hunger. DAMN, she's good.

If you play guitar, go out right now, track down a copy of Hunger, and listen to track 7, "Welcome to Acousticville".

... was leave the kids at home and go out for a drive. Went up Leigh to Blossom Hill, jogged over to Highway 9, hung a right on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz, stopped in a roadside vegie stand just outside Half Moon Bay for peas, corn, and brussels sprouts, and came back on 92, Edgewood Road to Woodside, and I280 from there. Took about three hours.

(Notes for those unfamiliar with the San Francisco Bay Area: we live in San Jose, down past the southern end of the bay. Hwy 9 is a 2-lane road that goes from Saratoga, through the Santa Cruz Mountains to Santa Cruz, on the coast. Edgewood Road is the 2-lane road that the I280 freeway replaced some 25-odd years ago.)
