Good party yesterday

Pretty much the usual crowd, though it seemed a little better-attended than usual. Broke up about 1:00am, which is a little early. I was fading fast at that point.

In spite of our usual "no presents required" policy, we got two bottles of single-malt Scotch: The Glenlivet from Colleen's cousin Audrey, and The Balvenie (don't remember who gave us that one). The Balvenie is a bit smokier; very tasty.

Best part of these parties is always the conversations.

Why do plumbing problems always happen Saturday night?

The pipes must know somehow that plumbers charge double on Sundays.

This one was fairly straightforward, now that we have a cleanout for the kitchen sink. It just required going outside in the rain, reaming out the pipe, then going to the nearest hardware store to get a new snake (couldn't find the old one) for the pipe from the sink to the cleanout. (There's a T-joint there and it's almost impossible to make a snake turn the corner.)

It takes two snakes these days because the one I've used the last couple of times through the cleanout has become so thoroughly coated with grease that it's not worth while trying to clean it up to the point where I'd be willing to take it into the house again.
