Stupid political tricks

This business of the Governator wanting to ``repeal the tripling of the car tax'' is just plain stupid.

It's not just that we're in the middle of the worst budget crunch in state history, it's that the tax hasn't really been tripled at all! It's been restored to the level it was at when the state had a surplus. The legislature, for once, had the wit to see that the surplus might not last forever, so they very sensibly said that the tax would go back to the old level if we needed it.

Well, I've finished the little writing project I started yesterday morning; appropriately enough it's #2 in my How I Work series, titled Documents are Directories.

I don't know how long I can keep this up, but we'll see.

Stereo phone calls

I just received simultaneous phone calls: on my office phone from flower_cat and on my cell phone from chaoswolf, both announcing that the Wolfie had gotten an A on one of her papers. I must have looked pretty silly sitting there with a phone on each ear saying "hello", but it worked.

Guess we owe her sushi this week. Darn.
