Well, over the weekend I:
  • Installed an ethernet cable from the hub in the garage attic down to the area near my side of the bedroom where I plan on doing my recording. About bloody time. I may be running out of excuses.
  • got NIS working on my home network, so that when I change the user IDs I won't have to go fixing up password files on all the client machines.
  • finally turned my ancient (RH 5.1, but still not broken) dialup/mail/news machine into a pure relay, so it doesn't have to mount /home or /var/mail anymore. Again, that'll make it easier when I fix the userids. It will also mean that I only have to install SpamAssassin in one place.
