Good party yesterday
2004-06-13 08:50 amIncluding a former boss from my Zilog days who hasn't been to the house for at least 15 years. It's nice to have a stable address. Good conversations about Linux, SCO, document distribution, computer architecture (and Intel's lack of talent for it), science fiction, audio editing software, ... In other parts of the house people talked of tea, politics, technical writing, system administration, cooking, ... -- and who knows what the kids were talking about.
One of my favorite bits was the past-midnight conversation in the office; a former co-worker and I discussed our different Linux work habits while
chaoswolf played a computer game and, from time to time, asked for the definition of the words, acronyms, and program names she didn't know. We'll make a hacker of her yet.
Woke up this morning convinced, in my poor befuzzled brain, that it was Monday and that I had to get out of bed immediately so I could start getting the YD ready to go to school for her finals. Wasn't until sometime after I'd started grinding the coffee that I realized my mistake.
