Monday evening update
2004-06-28 09:13 pm... and in all my many errands over the weekend I forgot the coffee. There was barely enough for this morning (and only because the
flower_cat hasn't been drinking any lately -- it interacts with the current mix of drugs); I had to stop by Peet's on my way home.
On the whole it was a pretty uneventful weekend -- we'd wanted to go out to someplace fun, like a museum, but instead the Cat was pretty-much immobilized by her arthritis. I did the cooking, and apart from the cheese sauce for yesterday's mac-and-cheese coming out a bit lumpy did pretty well. The kids were moderately helpful, especially
chaoswolf, who cooked tonight's meatloaf, and whose latest project involves cleaning up parts of the back yard.
The Cat's condition is definitely getting better -- she was able to drive the
super_star_girl (that's the Younger Daughter) to and from her class at Sylvan, and do about half of the grocery shopping. We're still going to see if she can get a temporary handicapped tag for her car -- I figure if she needs a cane to get around the house, she probably qualifies.
Work is finally getting out of demo mode, and it looks like a couple of interesting projects are ramping up. I'll even be able to talk about some of it, eventually -- when your boss OKs a CVS repository name starting with "Open..." it can usually be taken as a strong indication of intent. (Of course the really cool stuff will have to wait longer.)

Party July 3rd
2004-06-28 10:05 pmSince we're not going to Westercon this year (too far, too hot, not enough cash), the
chaoswolf is celebrating her 19th birthday at home this year. See the Grand Central Starport web page for links to map and directions.

chaoswolf -- I assume you're going to copy this in your LJ.)
