She's hooked, she's hooked, her brain is cooked!

chaoswolf seems quite enthusiastic about getting her very own domain (chaoswolf.org) for her birthday. More than I expected, in fact -- I may finally have gotten her hooked.

Since she insists on using Windows and ssh-ing over to the server, and since she already prefers pine for email, she's been learning to use emacs like a real hacker -- in console mode. This will stand her in good stead: you can't always count on a remote server having X. (Yeah, I know: she'll probably need to learn vi eventually, too. Later.) Anyway, she seems to be having fun, and that's what counts.
