Happy Mother's Day...

... to all the moms out there among my readers, and especially to the Starport's own flower_cat!!

A truly delightful brunch

Took the family out for brunch, to Trader Vic's in Palo Alto. The flower_cat and I had been there last year (having driven up to Palo Alto to look for a brunch, and simply lucked into it). This year we made reservations, and it's a darned good thing we did -- we were on a waiting list until Saturday afternoon. The kids were hungry and the Y.D. was a little whiny before lunch, but there were no complaints -- the buffet satisfied them completely.

Altogether it was a delight -- the kids behaving themselves perfectly in a good restaurant. They both tried, and liked, the smoked sturgeon -- yay! They even joked with one another instead of being annoyed (or annoying). Terrific Mother's Day present for the Cat. Rather pricy, and the kids insisted on looking at the bill, which I think shocked them. But as I told them, it was well worth it to have them along and well-behaved at brunch with their mother.

The flower_cat and the kids went out shopping after brunch, leaving me free to do some long-needed (well, ... long-wanted, anyway) ( hardware maintenance. )
