(non-Shakespeare) Quote of the day:
2005-09-23 07:31 pm"If this [the arrival of Hurricane Rita] makes the climate loonies in the States realise we've got a problem, some good will come out of a truly awful situation"
(The chairman of the [British] Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution, Sir John Lawton. as quoted in The Register)
The new business model for music
2005-09-23 08:10 pm There's a "one-man band" called Brad Sucks. Brad (that's the musician's name) gives his
music away on his website, including not only mp3's of all the
songs on the album but (here's the really cool part) the sources. Each
.zip file on that page contains all of the .wav
files that went into the mix. Also on that page are dozens of
remixes that people have sent in.
As he says on the front page, "Despite giving my music away for free online, my songs have been licensed for television, played on commercial and campus radio, and I made enough money from licensing and sales to do a real pressing of my first CD: I Don't Know What I'm Doing."

(Shakespeare) Quote of the Day

When you see this, post a quote from Shakespeare on your journal.
Glendower: I can call on spirits from the vasty deep!( and here's a longer one, but it's my favorite, so I'm putting it in regardless )
Hotspur: Why, so can I, and so can any man, but do they come when you do call them?
-- Henry IV, part I
