Was planning to post about hassles with insurance company; may still do
that tomorrow. Now posting that older daughter
chaoswolf got
mugged last night -- well, tonight, since I haven't been to sleep yet.
She's OK; a bit roughed up. Went in to Kaiser ER to have her checked
out. Just got back. G'night.

OK. I'm awake...
2005-09-30 07:44 am...for suitably small values of awake. Got up at my usual 6:15 or so; the careful reader will note that this means I'm running (if you can call it that) on about 2 hours' worth of sleep. Don't try this at home. (All bets are off at a con.)
In a few minutes I'll try rousing the
chaoswolf to see whether
she's up for school -- I know she wants to get there by 8:30 to connect
with her GF before a karate class at 9:30.
Then I have to drag myself over to my insurance agents' office to pay the earthquake insurance premium that the company stupidly, and for the first time, sent to my bank as a separate bill rather than as part of the regular homeowners' bill. Yes, I could change companies, but the cost would be about the same and it would provide more opportunities for screw-ups.
(9:15)update: The Wolfling's at school, looking and feeling a lot better than she did last night (not hard, but still encouraging). Her new bed is due sometime late this afternoon, so I have to go up to her room and finish clearing a space for it.
Sleep? What's that?
Evening update
2005-09-30 08:47 pm The
chaoswolf is looking a lot better; I think she went
upstairs to bed. Thanks to all for the good wishes.
Her new loft-style bed arrived this afternoon (a little earlier than expected; nobody's complaining). It puts her awfully close to the ceiling, but that's her choice. For some unguessable reason we ended up with two extra sets of slats. I'll take 'em back tomorrow. The gardener is willing to take her pretty but bulky dresser. Nobody here wants it, and the gardener has done some amazing work on the yard.
