(no subject)

The flower_cat and I went out last night to a charity dinner -- the 30th anniversary of Parents Helping Parents, (confusingly, for this old web-hacker, called PHP) thanks to our friends Dave and Joyce who had paid some outrageous amount for a table. Didn't win any of the various raffles we entered; I admit feeling some relief that we didn't win the Prius. Yes, it would have been nice, but the tax hit would have been more than we could afford this year. We left at the point where they switched from the door prize drawing to dancing. The food was good, but the sound system was both loud and nearly unintelligible.

My plan for the day is to make breakfast, take a walk, have lunch, then retrack "Someplace in the Net" and at least one other song sometime in the afternoon. There are at least four songs that need me to re-record parts.

Nailed the re-done tracks for "Someplace in the Net" [ogg] and "High Barratry" [ogg]. The latter may want to have the guitar and vocals redone separately, but at least it's a clean, solid base that I can use for a scratch track if I decide to. I always have problems if I end up having to edit out a flubbed verse, which is why I had to redo it in the first place. ("Someplace in the Net" was another matter -- I decided it needed to be played in G capoed up to A, and the newer arrangement needed a little work anyway.

As usual, comments on the new tracks would be welcome. Especially if you think there's something I have to redo. More tomorrow, I hope.

[15 minutes] Saturday evening update

After a couple of hours of singing on top of what might be a bit of a cold, my throat is sore enough that I'm not going to do any more singing tonight. Maybe tomorrow, or I may stick to guitar work.

Went out to the Elephant Bar restaurant for dinner with the flower_cat and super_star_girl. Good place if you get there early; it starts to fill up around 6pm. The chaoswolf is still out with jilara at the Felton Highland Games, or maybe doing something afterwards. Not my day to watch her. (She just got home.)

[15 minutes] -- put in 20-30 minutes picking up in the bedroom, especially the closet and "studio" areas.
