Made it through a full day of work today, but only thanks to the fact that their first aid kit includes a supply of phenylephedrine. By the tine I got home I had muscle aches, a headache, and was almost unable to breathe. Now, after nose-watering, three aspirin, a claritin, a squirt of afrin, dinner, and a hot buttered rum, I'm feeling almost human.

I did manage a moderate walk - once around the pond, and rather slowly. May still have been a mistake, but I think I would have gone stir-crazy without it.

It ocurred to me that there might be one or two lessons to be learned from our now-nearly-defunct form system, so started writing up a tech report. There are a few aspects of it that are unusual enough, even ten years later, to be worth noting. One being the fact that it keeps filled forms in flat files rather than a database; this is not only much more robust but perfectly sensible if you intend to preserve the exact text that the user actually verified and digitally signed. It's actually more like a wiki than a database.

For some reason I seem to be more interested in writing text than code these days.
