mdlbear: (distress)

Um... it's been a week. I think I actually accomplished a few things -- that's probably why I feel as though I didn't get anything done. Does that make sense? I think so: doing things reminds me of all the other things I haven't done. (Including singing, writing, and posting as much as I wanted to, I suppose.)

But progress has been made, both on getting L moved next door to the room over the garage (AKA the Box Room), on organizing the garage (including putting up another set of shelves, and in the process finding the missing music books), and even a little yard work. What's left is still daunting, discouraging, and depressing.

So are the other (because L's move is isolation-related) aspects of COVID-19. Island county has moved into Phase 2 of the Washington's "Safe Start reopening plan". Not that it makes much difference here at the North End; Colleen and I aren't about to poke our noses out of our hole until phase 4 (when "high-risk populations" can supposedly "Resume public interactions, with physical distancing") at the very earliest. Maybe not until there's a vaccine. We'll see. This item in the The New York Times is only slightly encouraging.

I'm slightly encouraged by the Minneapolis city council voting to disband their police department. But only slightly; because that's another long slog, against people in power (all the way up to the Dumpster Fire on top) to whom #blacklivesmatter much less than their bigotry and greed.
