On the whole, a pretty good week: Yeomen of the Guard on Sunday; the GSA letting transition begin and the cats getting a clean bill of health on Monday, Thanksgiving dinner on Tuesday (extending into Thursday), a call from N and j and a video call with R on Thursday, and an afternoon of streamed filk and a little puttering around the house on Saturday. At least the days were okay. The nights, not so much, between my back pain, Colleen's gut, and worry about the ongoing political and public health catastrophes. I'll take what I can get.

Getting the cats to the vet involved the usual amount of insanity. I booked two appointments, with the idea that if I couldn't corner Ticia for the first one I'd take Desti and work on collecting Ticia in the afternoon. It's what I ended up doing last year, and it was a good decision. Desti's easy. Ticia led me and S a merry chase, but when I actually got her cornered and picked up it turned out to be pretty easy to carry her over to the carrier and stuff her in. The fact that I'd put the carrier on the seat of Colleen's scooter helped because I didn't have to bend over to do it.

As for links, The BBC is releasing over 16,000 sound effects for free download (see Monday for more), What to Say If People You Love Believe Coronavirus Conspiracy Theories | SELF, and Walmart-exclusive router and others sold on Amazon & eBay contain hidden backdoors to control devices. For that last, never buy a router you can't install Linux on. Or just use NetBSD on a Raspberry Pi (more links on Tuesday).
