Done Since 2021-02-14
2021-02-21 03:10 pmA somewhat strange week, since it included two nights and a day of vaccine reaction after my second jab. Comparable to what I remember of the flu, but not lasting nearly as long. Unpleasant, but manageable.
I sang The River for Colleen on Valentine's Day, which is what I wrote it for back in 2008.
Both Colleen and I had doctor's appointments. Mine was basically uninteresting, which is how I like them. It was on Tuesday, i.e. before my vaccine jab on Wednesday. I would not have been comfortable having it after.
Hers was on Thursday and resulted in an antibiotic prescription based on her last urine sample. It was apparently serious enough that they gave her an injection before she left the office, plus one the next day (Friday) before switching her to the oral version for the rest of the course. I'm worried about her. Not so much because of the UTI, which is nothing new, but her general physical and mental condition. Not much I can do about it, though.
NASA's Mars-copter is running Linux with an open-source flight software and embedded systems framework called F'. So if you want to build a drone...
The Robot Operating System, ROS, is also worthy of note. Red Hat has a series of videos about it: How To Start a Robot Revolution: Part 1. Their Open Source Stories series is yet another rabbit-hole; I'm not sure how I fell into it. I think it's pretty accessible to non-geeks, but I'm not really qualified to make that call.
