My attention during the early part of the week was taken up by the hassles involved in getting our phones properly set up -- Colleen's old phone in particular was running an old enough version (4.4.2) of Android that none of the software-based techniques for copying contacts worked. Fortunately it did have a micro-SD card. So the contacts went from phone to card to laptop to Colleen's new phone via email, where gmail recognized the .vcf file as contacts and offered to add them. Whew! Losing her contacts would have been BAD.

Turned out that my old phone had unsynced contacts too, but I was able to copy those directly to google contacts on the old phone, and sync via WiFi. None of this makes me hate phones any less.

My attention during the latter part of the week was mostly concerned with my colonoscopy on Friday. Meanwhile, the clipboard with my still-to-be-entered 1099 forms has gone missing. (If it doesn't turn up either in the room I haven't looked in or the lost-and-found at Swedish -- I'll call during business hours on Monday -- I'll need to get those online. Every once in a while procrastination really bites my arse.) And I still need to find and fix whatever loose item is making Sable randomly reboot. I'm currently using Sherman, which is older, heavier, and less capable; but reliable.

I have made approximately zero progress on any of my projects.

I don't usually do a gratitude post on Sunday, but... After a hectic and stressful set of events in Colleen's room at Prestige, I glanced down at the partly-open drawer of her nightstand and saw what looked like her clipboard under a pile of SNF and hospital paperwork. And my clipboard, with the un-entered 1099s, was right underneath it.

Feeling rather stupid, but vastly relieved.

I'm also thankful that

  • I won't have to call the hospital to see whether it was found there,
  • I won't have to try to track all of that data down online, and
  • Her tablet and phone were undamaged after she raised her bed and flipped over her bedside table.
