mdlbearTransferring 40GB over USB-1 takes a long time. In retrospect, I should have taken the drive out and put it in a tray. Or plugged it into the one machine in the house that has USB-2 ports.
It's also possible that a local Debian mirror was a bad idea in the first place; I really have no idea what it will do to my DSL bandwidth.
