2005-05-20 03:27 pmColleen is resting as comfortably as one can expect for someone who has just had one of the most painful kinds of surgery and hasn't been able to take the only drug (asprin) that works on her arthritis for the last week. In other words, not particularly, but since neither of us got much sleep last night she's probably going to spend most of the afternoon dozing.
I personally think their estimate of 24 hours in the hospital is being optimistic -- I'll be surprised if she can even get out of bed tomorrow morning. But we'll see. If she does go home tomorrow, it will be between 10 and 11am.
If you're local, visiting hours at the Santa Clara Kaiser hospital are (if I remember correctly) 8:30am to 8:30pm; she's in room 701, bed C (by the window). Your best bet may be to ask at the info desk in the lobby. No phone calls please (by her request); she's not up for fumbling with the phone. No calls after 9:30 in any case -- that's bedtime. Maybe tomorrow if she's still there.
