flower_cat update: noon

Looks like she'll be coming home tomorrow noonish. She'll be in a lot of pain, but if she can at least get from the bed to the bathroom to a chair we'll be OK. They were trying to tell her she might go home today, and she hadn't even gotten out of bed yet. She gets a bit panicky when things like that happen. I think they were trying to be encouraging, but Colleen read it as not paying attention to what she was telling them.

My shopping list for today: a thinner mattress, a grab bar for the back bathroom, and a deck chair like the ones they have in the hospital (comfortable, sturdy, right height, grabbable arms, springy back). We meant to go mattress shopping a week or so ago -- really should have done that.

Wow. I hope she is feeling good enough to go home tomorrow. I didn't get to sleep much at the hospital but it was nice to have the pain medications settled before leaving. Has she been able to keep food down? Seems like critical pieces of the puzzle.

Tell her we've been asking about her.

Thanks for the updates. Arthur has had a resurfacing of the Crud that Peter gave you all, and thus we think it unwise to visit just yet.

I'm glad she's getting control of the pain. By the time BayCon rolls around, we can see if she needs to draft Arthur for help on occasion (like he walks by). He does like to be useful.

Might I visit once she's home? I have been untouched by Peter's Crud.

You can certainly come to visit -- I'll post when she gets here; hopefully tomorrow, but we'll see how the doctor thinks she's doing in the morning.

Help at the con will be useful; alternatively Arthur could help chaoswolf run the filk lounge, or at least help keep her company there. Normally Colleen would, but...

I am going to keep Arthur FARRRR away from youse guys--he's been home sick with that wonderful Crud. I don't think I can visit with him along.
