The 'Tempting Fate' meme:

1. Make an LJ-cut post with "DO NOT READ" as the text.
2. Do not select a 'mood' for this post.
3. If anyone clicks the cut, they are to comment and admit to doing so.
4. Anyone who reads this also has to do the same in THEIR journal, thus continuing the neverending madness.

Come on... be honest...

If you read then Comment!

He tasks me, and I must follow.

I never was very good at taking direction, and have a bad habit of curiousity.

Yeah, curiosity got the best of me...

But I won't be carrying on the madness, because I don't tend to put memes in my journal :).

Guilt by indirection. The post didn't make me curious, but I had to check why 3 people had commented.

If reading things that Warren Ellis lists as “don’t look” doesn’t deter me, I don’t think anything will.

I have a long history of responding badly to authority. Any authority. You should hear the stories my ex-husband and father used to tell about me. All true. The defense rests.

But... if I'm not supposed to follow directions than obviously I should not be posting here, let alone putting it into my journal, which I'm not doing anyway so what the heck!

Well, if you honestly didn't want us to read it, you wouldn't post it in your journal, would you? Because that would be silly, and while you are quite capable of being silly, you aren't usually silly in a self-defeating way.

But I don't put memes in my journal, sorry.

Oh, come ON. Anybody interesting enough to be on my regular rotation puts that up there, the *first* thought through my head is *CLICK*... :) :) :)

Technically I can probably wiggle out because I clicked on the link to read the comments rather than directly on the cut, even though I knew that that also makes the cut stuff visible.

The first attempt just sat there "loading" for a long time, leading me to think there was some good reason for the DO NOT READ thing, such as a gazillion-megabyte image or something. But then it showed a timeout error, which I don't think a large file would have done. So I tried again, and this time got the Comments page after just a second or two. Network hiccup?

I am definitely too curious for my own good.

Oh well.
