mdlbearFlu, definitely flu (or something similar that's said to be going around).
This is not the more common "stomach flu" where you upchuck once, feel miserable all night, and wake up fine in the morning. This appears to be the "feel like you've been run over by a truck for most of the week, and if your fever stays over 104 for two hours get your ass into the hospital" variety.
What fun!
