User interface design
2003-09-06 08:52 amOur new oven has an electronic control panel, of course -- chips and wires have been cheaper than gears and cams for a long time now. There are a couple of nice touches in the UI design:
- You can set it up for a delayed start. But instead of setting the starting time (as you do with a VCR, say), you set the baking time and the stop time: i.e., when you want it to be ready.
- When you push the button to set the temperature, it starts out showing 350(F), the most commonly-used baking temperature. You adjust up and down from there.
