Sharp pointy things

flower_cat expressed a desire to get out of the house yesterday, so we went to Santana Row to get a couple of pounds of coffee at Peet's (I had used all but the last little bit from the freezer that morning). Peet's gives you a free coffee (or tea, in the flower_cat's case) for every pound of beans you buy; I usually get only one when I'm on my own.

After finishing our respective drinks we went over to one of the few other worthwhile stores, Sur la Table. Kitchen stuff. Evil. We ended up spending $40 on a gorgeous little Kershaw paring knife. (There's a slightly better picture here, but even that doesn't do it justice.

It's a 3.5" pattern-welded (the blurb says Damascus, but the knife is made in Japan by KAI) blade, razor-sharp (yes, I can), with a dark wood handle. Neither of us could resist.
