Some day I'm going to have to improve the colors in that picture... The program that generated it was a quick hack over a decade ago...

Meanwhile, I can see that LJ is going to take some considerable attention; one could easily become an addict. There are worse things, clearly, but I really don't have the time.

Friends filters are your greatest ally. (They're also far more easily managed with one of the posting clients than through the website....) It makes it far easier to say "Okay, I'm way too behind right now; I'm just going to read these people and call it a day."

And even at that, it sometimes sucks your life away.... *wry smile*

it kind of waxes and wanes; pop any communities you join on a separate friends filter and you can dip in and out and remember you can scroll down quickly and just skim when you're busy... or you could use an rss aggregrator so you only see the post titles, even quicker to skim...
