Colleen: current standing

The good news from Colleen today is that she had two PT sessions, morning and afternoon. In the morning she stood up six simes: twice for 2 minutes, and the remaining four times for a minuted. In the afternoon the score was 1 and 3 respectively.

Tomorrow they'll work on taking steps.

I came in to your life on the late side. I've known that Colleen has had health and mobility issues, and then recently the fistula, which was very scary and finally resolved. After the surgery she had trouble getting the use of her legs back, and has been working very hard just lately on rising and standing, with walking to come.

However, I remain confused about the earlier parts of her disability. Could you post some background; as much as would be appropriate to get your friends up to date?

She's had severe arthritis for a long time, and a couple of years ago was diagnosed with Crohn's disease (which accounts for the fistula). About a year ago we decided to try a wheelchair going through the Toronto airport; it was a major improvement.

Is that about the level of detail you meant?

We've both been up and down the last couple of months; mostly up the last week or so since she started being able to stand up.

I'm holding up moderately well, but with occasional rough spots. How about you?

I am alive and kicking. I lost the restraining order, and Rob has filed for custody of the boys. I am sick over this. However, I have a new attorney on the case who is very aggressive, and he thinks that Rob doesn't have a chance in Hades.

Ugh. Good to hear that you have a new attorney, though. That should help.
