Colleen: big strides

Colleen walked 40 feet today, in about half a dozen segments spread out between her morning and afternoon PT sessions. That's huge.

The doctor has approved her going out on 4-hour passes, and Wednesday they want me to drive over so she can practice getting in and out of the car.

I am a happy Bear.

Yeah!!! It is good to hear she is progressing so very well. I will keep the candles lit and prayers for her, you and all the family going.

Wow, that's really great. Seems as if she's on a roll now - but not "rolling" in her wheelchair ;-)

Well, there have been some setbacks, but the plan is still for her to come home Friday the 24th.

And even if it might be convenient for her to be where the medical equipment and physical therapists are, I'm sure she'll feel better - and therefore recover more quickly - when she's back among familiar surroundings.

I believe she'll be getting three PT visits/week. My only real concern is whether she'll be able to get around the house well enough to be OK by herself most of the day. That's looking likely, but there are still worries.

There are undoubtedly going to be some relatively minor snafus, but things will work themselves out.
