Thank you, and I know you (and the offspring, insofar as they were able) made Colleen's Mother's Day a happy one.

I had a pretty good one myself. My son took me to see the Star Trek movie - no spoilers, but Zachary Quinto looks exactly the way you'd have expected Leonard-Nimoy-as-Spock to have looked at that age, and is serious eye candy as well. Lots of in-jokes, a few surprises, kick-ass special effects, and a fair bit of promise. Although one of the most jarring things to me was that James Tiberius Kirk had famously brown eyes, not the piercing blue of the new kid. Then we went to dinner at a Japanese restaurant nearby, where the food is always good, and the staff speaks English well enough to understand "Teriyaki sauce with no scallions and no bonito, please!" Then we came back to the house and had the dessert I'd made - a chocolate-raspberry torte that's so rich and chocolatey it's probably illegal in several states ;-)
