Colleen has made a fair amount of progress over the weekend: she can now get in and out of bed without help. That's huge for me -- it means she can (and did, last night) use the commode without waking me. Sometimes -- it depends on where I am in my sleep cycle. But it'll help a lot.

The other thing is that she's going to try using the rolling walker (Johnny, which is strictly for balance and seating) in the kitchen, and preparing her own lunches. Also huge, if it works. (As of right now, it appears to be working; she rolled out to her chair with it. We're keeping the other (Frankie, which provides solid support as well as balance) for the commode and car transfers.)

I don't know if this helps

but a lot of what you're doing and feeling sounds vaguely familiar to me. It's a bit like what happens when you have a new baby in the household. Lots of new stuff to figure out, stress of new life situation, a sudden severe, nearly-overwhelming increase in responsibilities, and luckily, the prospect of improvement.

I am happy for both of you that you are seeing improvements.

Only in the sense that you're not alone, and others have survived.

YAAAAAY for better mobility. I know what it's like to have a hard time moving around in my own house - it's no fun.

I'm glad that improvements keep coming. I know that it seems like forever, but things do get better.

You never take going potty without help for granted once you haven't been able to do it for a while. I know how huge this is from your perspective and hers as well. I am so happy for you both!

Toilet freedom rocks!
