I've mentioned verbal tags or keywords before; "snapdragon" and "Basingstoke" for example. Another one, a little more recent, is "meow". (Colleen is also known as the Cheshire Cat -- it fits.)

"Meow" basically means "come over here and hug me or kiss me as soon as you have a chance." It's something that Colleen can say any time, in any company, without being embarrassed and without embarrassing me. Useful.

"Mew?" in our house means "Are you there/awake/able to hear me/paying attention?" so I don't think "Meow" would work here, but I do think we should have something that serves the purpose of meaning "Please come hug/kiss me," that is not so explicit as to embarrass either party when said in a public environment. Will think on this.

We use "meow" a lot. It is, for us, mostly a "love sonar", similar to what Naomi said, a "are you there? love you!" ... basically a "ping" :) Otoh, it CAN mean "come over here and hug/kiss/cuddle" if it is voiced with more emphasis. Useful sound, indeed :)

...except that you are hereby blowing her cover. ;-)

What's it mean when you use it? I know what it means in G&S context, but not in Starportian lingo.
