phone doesn't work well because of half-duplex + lag.
! delighted. Music _does_ help a lot, which is something both N and I
tend to forget. Callie has setlist.
  * bed ~11pm; nice gentle snuggle

A pretty good day. It started off with the final day of OSCon: good keynotes, fun sessions, and a couple of brief conversations. It ended early enough for me to go in to work and do some catching-up and planning, though no actual programming.

The day ended with a call from Callie suggesting a Tempered Glass practice session to help improve Naomi's mood. It worked, and helped me and Callie as well, though it did end up more like a song circle because the lag made it impossible to sing together.

I think streaming audio might work better, but it will still have to be half-duplex, with one side leading (and turning off their speakers) and the other side singing along (and maybe recording).

Naomi remarked that she often forgets how effective music can be at improving her mood. So do I. I'm going to have to try to remember, now, and make more time for it.

Good thought re music!

Do you sleep better after doing music? A lot of people sleep better with a "going to sleep soon" ritual. If music helps you sleep, a short practice before bed might be good.

Alternatively, if music wakes you up, you should avoid playing right before bedtime! lol!

For me, it's a bit of both. I need time to come down off the energy high from live music, but I do think an evening's music helps me to sleep relaxed and deeply.

Me too on the waking up when my brain figures out a song (or other piece of writing). That I welcome, so long as I'm not exhausted - far better to scribble it down and lose a bit of sleep than to lose it!

Of course, I tend to fall back asleep easily, if I'm still tired.

Falling back asleep is easy. Too easy, if I'm still tired and have to get up to go to work!

Falling asleep in the first place can be easy or not.
