Wishful Wednesday
2009-09-02 08:01 amIt's Wednesday. I decided over the weekend that "Wishful Wednesday" might be a good day to post a link to the Caregiver's Wishlist that I've been working on.
Thanks to
moshez, Ali, and Marty, and of course the YD, who
are already taking on several of these tasks.
I'm a little fuzzy on how often to post this. Is once a week too much? I could make it the first Wednesday of each month. Comments?
I have to add that this wasn't an easy list to make, and wasn't an easy post to make -- it amounts to a public acknowledgement that there are lots of essential chores that I originally thought I could do, but can't even get started on.

Date: 2009-09-02 03:24 pm (UTC)I think you might start with calling attention to it every Wednesday; if that's too often (and/or if it doesn't change that fast), you could then think about making it every first Wednesday.

Date: 2009-09-03 02:41 am (UTC)Coupla questions: Do Colleen & YD need to be tutored in person, or would over-the-phone work? What level of tutoring? It ranges from "This...is...your...MOUSE" to "so to install a Linux package from the command line..." If you can give me a better idea of what they might need and what they are running on what OS, I may be able to help with that.
Many pats on head for being willing to post it. I'm willing to bet that before Colleen was ill, you were pretty much running full-tilt-boogie most of the time, right? And then you got seriously derailed, and one of the people who was part of keeping the full-tilt work became unavailable (i.e., Colleen). Of COURSE you got way behind. If you hadn't I would suspect you of violating the laws of space and time. It's not a shame-thing to be unable to do EVERY-frickin'-thing by yourself. Really. Trust me on this. (Says she who still overbooks regularly and feels bad about asking for help all the zillions of times a day she has to.)
I'm here to report it gets easier with time. Hang in there.

Date: 2009-09-03 04:37 am (UTC)It's not a matter of shame, it's a matter of frustration. Stuff has to get done, and it's way too easy for me to say screw it and not do anything.
