Somehow I seem to have neglected to mention the fact that my songwriting talents have been recognized once more in the form of another Kazoo Award. Specifically, Thrill-Seekers' Waltz was the winner in the "Recycled Fish" category. I am speechless.

It's worth noting that T-SW was the first of two songs I wrote after the Challenger disaster; the second was Keep the Dream Alive. Which I think is probably more worthy of recognition, though I suppose that's a matter of taste.

Congratulations! And although I think "Keep the Dream Alive" is terrific, this is a nice little gem of a nasty parody, and you have every reason to be proud of it also. It is very well-done within its own style.

"Dream" is a beautiful song, serious and respectful as befits the subject matter, while "Waltz" is absolutely, utterly, deliciously wicked and warped. They're both deserving - just not in the same category!

But we like our songs warped.
Dream is beautiful, but hey, T-SW is so wrong it's fun.
So Congrats, another baby recognized.

It's a good song ... reminds me of Princess Diana, car racing, and other media-induced fascinations.

(Is there a missing 'on' in the last line of T-SW on that page or am I not getting the sense right?)
