Done yesterday (20091119 Th)
2009-11-20 08:18 am1119 Th
* 3:30 round and round the prickly pear looking for Colleen's glasses and
lomotil. The former turned up this morning in the LR, having probably
fallen out of her walker while looking for the latter.
* up 7:10; W=199.4; drugs, nose; coffee
~ 10am YD: doctor's ap't (Marty will drive) -> postponed Mon. 2pm
* MAKE SURE the bank has paid the correct amount of property tax 1038.75
1110 nothing paid yet -> CALL 800-888-5990
1117 received escrow statement -- they have the wrong number.
1118 called - call back tomorrow after they've paid it (check web first)
1119 checked web; correct amount paid.
! one wonders whether less alcohol would help my mood. Will take some
careful observation.

& Good hallway conversation with coworkers about phone "phobia"
Definitely not a phobia - no fear. There's always something better to do;
one never thinks about it except when it's impossible to call; it reminds
me of or requires me to think about things that make me uncomfortable.
* walk to Safeway; pond both ways. ~90m
| a little trouble with left ankle and hips. What's with _that_?
& working on song: (parody)
* buy: omega-3 ~(Walgreen's has $5 off coupon)
=> add omega-3 fatty acids to the supplement mix; may help triglycerides
* make Kat's reservation for Conflikt (deadline 11/29) Selkit? no.
make brunch reservations for all three of us. ($140 on AX via PayPal)
| left shoulder very sore
& posted on phone avoidance
* PAY BILLS through end of month! (actually left the 29th and 30th)
* snuggle, cyclobenzaprine, bath, bed ~11
Again, a pretty good day. The highlight was a good hallway conversation at work about phone avoidance, which I've already posted about. A good, long walk, though I had a little pain in my hips coming back. What's with that?
The walk included Safeway, which is where I get my at-my-desk lunch munchies. I added some fish-oil softgels, in hopes that the omega-3 fatty acids will help with my triglycerides.
No, I don't think the "scrim" is entirely due to dirty glasses; I didn't wash them, but things still looked the way I've come to associate with getting out of a long down phase.
Cleared a couple of to-do items; signing up for the Conflikt brunch and buying Kat her membership have been on the list for a long time.
The day's hot links are a page devoted to the Moosylvania Jazz Festival - Jay Ward (from wcg: Meta-vignette 19: Moosylvania), and The Ferrett's Journal - Moments Of Finding Doom. The latter is about those moments when you look at a new technology and realize that it changes the game.

Date: 2009-11-21 05:38 am (UTC)Ok, Asst Manager Shadowe wants to let you know that for the fish oil to be at *Therapeutic Dose* the EPA/DHA levels need to be at 3000mg per day. Not just 3000mg of Fish Oil :D Check the back of your bottle and see what the ones you have contain for those two ingredients. If you already knew this...Sowwy. ;-) Just being my usually helpful self. Also, if you have any other supplement questions feel free to email me :D It's what I do for a living, and that part of the job I love, helping folks. As for the hips,(and knees, ankles and other important joints) are you taking any joint supplements? If not you should be. Glucosamine Sulfate (not HCI unless you're allergic to shellfish) combined with Chondroitin Sulfate (and preferably MSM) is a real important one for joint health.

Date: 2009-11-21 05:01 pm (UTC)Hmm. The fish oil capsules are 684mg of EPA/DHA, so... 5/day? Must look for the pure fatty acids.

Date: 2009-11-22 03:33 am (UTC)I'm taking alpha lipoic acid (200mg), C (100mg), D (4000 IU), niacin (500mg), B-6 (100mg), and B-12 (500mcg) as well as Centrum Cardio. I credit the ALA and B-12 with curing the numbness I was feeling in my legs about two years back (apparently that was similar to diabetic neuropathy, except that I've never been diabetic).
Where does one go for information on this stuff?
