mdlbearNot having bought a Linux box yesterday, I read today's Fry's ad with considerable interest. Alas, no cheap Linux boxen, but they did have a Maxtor 120GB drive for $89. Unlike their usual practice for Maxtor, it was a retail box with no need for a mail-in rebate.
Of course it's entirely possible that I don't have a computer that will even recognize it, much less boot from it, except for the audio system (which already has a 120). Not a major problem, since it's going to be used for backing up the audio system. Eventually I'll get a USB-2/Firewire external box for it.
